Learn to play the double bass

Yes, it’s true. I want to learn how to play the double bass. I actually play the electric bass, and this year will be my 9th year as a bassist, but somehow, whenever I hear the rich, deep sounds of a double bass driving a jazz or swing song… The sound of it virtually reaches out and makes me feel like I’m actually seeing the thing being played live, y’know? The characteristic sound of its strings twang-ing against its fretboard… That twang! The way the sound slides up and down… What can I say? I just wanna learn to play the double bass!
