Long hair, at last?

I straightened my hair about one month ago, while I was on vacation. My hair also got a slight trim, about 1 to 2 inches cut off. But I look in the mirror, and my hair’s still about 4 to 5 inches past my shoulders. I’m quite happy with my hair right now, because people who haven’t seen me in a while usually say this when they meet me these days: “Your hair is long!” So I guess you could say I’m quite happy with my hair!

Ah... At last.

Okay, I examined my hair in the mirror, and it has grown! It’s now approximately 4 inches below my shoulders and am I happy? Oh yeah! I would really like to be able to go about with my hair loose, but really my hair’s a little bit too messy. But I like the fact that my hair is unpredictable. Sometimes it’s quite straight, and sometimes it’s wavy. Sometimes it sticks out all over the place though, but I still like my hair as it is now!

I don't get it...

So it’s been 5 months since the last time I wrote about this, and in that entry I said my hair was 2 and a half inches past my shoulders. My question, then, is this: why is my hair still more or less at that length? Shouldn’t it be longer? It’s still past my shoulders, but not by much. Surely hair can’t take this long to grow! And everytime I shampoo and condition my hair, I find lots of loose strands on my hands… Like, what is going on? But then again, this is always the situation with my hair. When it gets past a certain length, it just starts dropping… And dropping… Maybe I’m using the wrong shampoo? Or maybe I tie my hair too tight? Or is it the way I comb my hair? Too harsh? Too fast? What is it?

So how long is 'long' supposed to be?

I checked yesterday, and my hair is about 2 and a half inches past my shoulders now (that is when it’s wet)... So like… This is taking quite a bit of time. How long is long supposed to be???

Why oh why?

I used to have long poker-straight hair which reached almost to my waist… But then a few problems emerged:

(i) My hair started dropping, and it was really scary to look at the many strands that were stuck on the bristles of my comb brush after I’d brushed my hair…

(ii) I had problems sleeping, because my hair would inadvertently get into my eyes, my mouth, my nose, around my neck… I started feeling really, er, suffocated.

(iii) Split ends – need I say more?

So I cut it. That was two years ago… And now I want to grow my hair back to that length! The current state of my hair: wavy black past my shoulders.

Sigh.

It’s gonna take me 2 years at least…

Why oh why did I cut my hair in the first place?

LoL!
