i really think so  — 2 months ago

I really think I have changed this situation as best I can. A while back, some Master’s people started on working on their own non-profit organization. They had me come to the first meeting to pray with them for vision for what God wanted to do through them. They wanted me to also partner with them in starting this organization. After praying about it, I realized that wasn’t the exact path God had called me to, at least at the moment. I felt like He was telling me to be an active supporter but not on the forefront.

I’ve supported Invisible Children and I’ve been praying for the conflict in Uganda to end. At this point, there’s not much more I can do. I can always pray more but I am praying.
I’m sure prayers alone won’t turn the tide, but I am one voice among thousands praying for peace. And we serve a great God

merry christmas to me!  — 6 months ago

I got my Invisible Children bracelet for Christmas. I got the white one which comes with the video about ‘Innocent”. I have yet to watch it. As far as I know, these bracelets are hand made in Uganda. Even though the bracelet looks pretty cool, I didn’t ask for it so I could be trendy or have people think highly of me for supporting a good cause (not that they would anyway. I’m pretty sure the only people who would recognize this as an Invisivle Children bracelet are people who already have one). I got this bracelet so that I will think about the people in Uganda more often and thus be prompted to pray more often.
It only cost $20. It comes with a dvd and literature. Something tells me, not much of that $20 has an impact over there. But when it reminds me to tell the Most High what is happening, when my prayers, like incense, float up to Him and He decides to step in and rescue His children, that $20 goes a long way.
Sooner than later, wearing bracelets and buying t-shirts will do little to change what is going on in Uganda. More must be done.

I saw the ‘Invisible Children’ movie a few weeks ago. It hit me harder than any other ‘charity case’. I know there is poverty all over the world that needs attention, and Jesus even said “The poor, you will always have you”, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t focus on one of the many. I pray for this situation almost as often as I think about it. I’m working on getting my bracelet so I can have a visual reminder to pray more often and to think about the people who made the bracelet when I pray. I know this situation can change. I believe it will. GOD said He hates injustice and poverty.
The kingdom of heaven doesn;t have it. It’s time to bring the kingdom to earth.
