Ahh marks. The wonder disciplinary system of the Rockford Masters Commission. Contrary to popular belief, they are not demerits. They are mere declarations that one has not measured up to the set standard. They are not given out like candy but it is not hard to get one. They are give for: being on time or late to school (at or after 8:00) or not cleaning well enough for room checks. If you receive four or more marks in any one of these criteria(ie not both combined) you will be required to attend a 5 AM. A 5 AM is a physical and mental disciplinary action. Often the participants meet on the 50 yard line of the high school football field, regardless of weather conditions, and are run through physical drills for 2 hours, all the while being..uh..motivated by the instructor. 5 AMs could also consist of cleaning everyones apartments from top to bottom.
As brutal as all that sounds, I swear Masters is not a totalitarian regime as many people think. But all the people who believe that would probably say that Masters has brainwashed me to say that anyway.
So anyway, I want no marks. No slacking off in my cleaning or getting school on time. I also don’t want any academic probation. AP is basically detention at 6 AM at the school. It is a time where you can make up any work you didn’t do in the given time or got less than an %80 on. If you get it twice, you get it everyday that week, otherwise it’s a one-time thing.
I can do this. It will require a lot from me but that’s the reason I came to Masters anyway: to do hard things.
No excuses.
