Great  — 3 weeks ago

Still need to put my journal together. There’s really not that much to it. All I really need to do is make a sort of prayer schedule of things to pray for on certain days. I have basically 5 categories of things that I pray for all the time and I’m gonna make sure I pray and write and think about at least one thing from each category everyday.
As you can see, I changed this goal to 2 hours instead of 4. With my schedule right now, this isn’t possible without getting unhealthy amounts of rest. So I’m starting this off at two hours a day, outside my scheduled time and hopefully I can work my way up some time.
The more I pray, the more I discover about this great mystery of talking to the Great One.

Keep a journal  — 2 months ago

I should start keeping a prayer Journal. I really honesty forget to pray for things that I know need to be brought to my attention so that I can get my heart in a place to genuinely seeks God’s help for it. See, God knows what I’m going to pray even before I pray it. He knows what situations need His help in. But I’m the one here, physically on earth with the responsibility and capability to do something about it, whatever it is. God knows what has to be done and He will do it, I just need to follow Him. I need to ask Him to move so that I can follow. I think a journal would help keep issues fresh in my mind and actually help me truly care more. Also, when I write about things, they become more clear to me. If I write about what I’m praying for and how I see God moving, solutions and answers will become clearer to me.
I should start this tomorrow. That’ll make three journals floatinf around in my bag (4 if you count my computer being access to the sort of journal that is 43things)

6 days a week  — 3 months ago

That would equal 24hrs a week spent in prayer. This really isn’t that steep of a goal to set when you think about it. My scheduled day starts at 8 everyday. If I get up at 5 every morning, work out and get ready until 6:30, that gives me an hour and a half. Lunch is and hour. Then I always have at least 2 hours sometime in the evening. This isn’t always how my schedule would work though. Some days, things would have to be moved around. I’ll probably have to make time a lot of days, but it can be done.
This goal is one of discipline. It will take a while. I’ll probably have to make a lot of sacrifices. I know I will. That’s kind of the point. I won’t be motivated to do it most of the time. I probably won’t do it a lot of the time. It will be a process before I will actually be praying 4 hours a day consistently. I guess it’s just up to me to decide how long that process will take.

BTW: This doesn’t include times of corporate prayer. This is solely my own time with God. I’m not even going to include the hour of prayer we have worked into our schedule. When I go home, I’m not gonna have an hour out of everyday given to me to use for prayer. That’s only on Tuesdays.
