get my lip pierced

I know I look upset in the picture, I was on my computer and didn’t realize my BFF was about to take a picture of me.

I’m not going to lie. When I got my ear lobes re-pierced with a 14g, It hurt a little bit, but the pain went away in an hour or so. And when I started guaging, that hurt quite a bit, and has gotten easier since. And I have my navel pierced about a year ago, So I have a high pain tolerance, But Again, I said I wouldn’t lie. So I wont.

Getting my lip pierced hurt REALLY bad.
I know the guy who does my piercings personally I met him while he was working
at this really clean piercing/tattoo shop, and I trust him, so I went to his apartment to do it.
When He put the needle through my lip It hurt and then it hurt worse when
I heard and felt a pop. Apparently it doesn’t go through the inside of your lip as easy as it does the outside. and that was the pop I heard. Then
he pulled the needle through a little to a comfortable position and let me sit back for a moment. I was over-joyed that I finally went through with it, but I leaned back and I felt sick, Like I was going to puke, my stomach lurched
and I stood up and ran to the bathroom. His roommate (also a friend of mine) brought me some water while i hung over the toilet. Thank god nothing came up but I was just feeling really hot, and needed to just sit for a moment.
then I was fine.

I kept ice on my lip the first night so it didn’t swell up the next day, but it did just a little the next day. That was a week ago and the swelling is starting to go down. The pain lingered and is just starting to decrease.

Getting this ‘procedure’ done is a lot of pain. (In my expeience.) And I am probably not going to get the other side done until next year, but it is worth it. If you want to do it, then do it, don’t just talk about it. I will warn you WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING….. Work out a way with your work that allows you to wear, I wear a clear retainer ring – with the bead pulled to just inside my lip—to work or a clipped post retainer, and no one seems to mind. Just be careful and be clean.

ugh, Why am I afraid? Why you ask? Well some think I have a phobia of needles, ‘tis very far from the truth; Some think I am afraid of the scar it will leave—exactly the opposite, I will relish in the scar!! I am afraid because I have an obvious, unhealthy fear yet respect of my mother’s opinion. nI know That she can tell me her opinion and completely change my mind – she’s very good at it. So that’s why I’ve decided not to tell her about it, I’ll wait until she notices… I’m thinking about doing it in two weeks – after I move out – then just wait until I see her again, after that she can say what she wants, but it will have been done and no one can do anything about it. So there.

Don’t worry – I’m 18, I’m going to college, and I’m not moving back home next summer anyway. So too bad,
