Ok, Finally

Started a different blog than the one I had originally intended. It’s a knitting blog! It’s very basic in design at the moment. Eventually, if I actually start using it regularly I will get K to make me a proper logo and whatnot.

Design

Finally worked out a deal with a friend to design this damn thing. The goofy blog I do for work has inspired me to get moving on this. It’s not going to be cheap to get it designed, but it’s going to be awesome.

Project

I’ve got this project that I’m starting that involves blogging while I’m working on a substantial piece of fiction writing, a sort of project-within-a-project I suppose. I keep saying I’m gonna get it started but I can’t seem to motivate myself to actually do so.

So, this weekend I’m going to mess with the design a bit and write my first entry. Eventually I’d like to make the whole thing a lot prettier, but that will come. I need to start the damn thing first.

No really, this is going to happen soon.

K is going to help me design the damn thing already, so I can finally get this show on the road. I have a few finished pieces to post, just sitting on my hard drive, waiting for the page to not look like crap. I want to not be embarrassed to send the link out. That’s basically why I’ve held off posting…it’s one thing if it’s interesting to read, but it’s gotta look nice too. And really, I want to eventually be able to use it as part of a writing portfolio-type thing that I’m working on.

Progress

Very first entry was written today, but I haven’t posted it yet. I like to put things I’ve written aside for a night and then proof-read them the next day. That’s just how I work. I think I’m being a bit of a perfectionist here, but perhaps this process will become natural once I get going. I’m taking it all very seriously because these days, a blog can be used as part of an online writing portfolio and it can lead to other writing-related projects.

K still needs to help me with the design, but he’s been so so so so busy with work lately. I’m not worried about rushing into that though. I also brainstormed a big list of future topics.

Will be able to mark this one ‘done’ very very soon!

Named

Blog has a name. Finally.

That was seriously the hardest part.

Now, the writing begins!

Also, I want a fancy logo header. K said he’d help me with that.

Bloggy

Well, I’ve got myself registered at wordpress:

Now I just have to mess with the design and figure out exactly what I’m going to be posting about. I’ve had a Livejournal for many years that I use as more of a daily updating site, to keep track of my thoughts and those of my friends. I’ll still keep up with that, but I want this new blog to have its own niche. Maybe something to do with my location and the struggles of writing that I come across around here. Will brainstorm this and post when I have it all figured out. Stay tuned.
