I just got rid of $3,800 of my debt. That’s more than half. My bank offered me a deal where I sign over my entire tax return ($1,800), and they forgive the extra two grand that I owe.
As much as I’d like to have the check for myself, paying this off is more important for the future.

I talked with a credit counselor for several hours yesterday. She helped mye consolidate all my bills into a single payment. Even though I haven’t racked up all that much debt comparatively, I was starting to feel a little out of control. This is a giant weight off my shoulders. I was also informed that my credit score is still excellent, and should remain so since I sought help in time.

I have very little debt these days, but any debt is no good in my book. What I owe is somewhere between $500 and $1000 dollars and it’s all due to unpaid parking tickets and one stupid traffic fine. I think I may owe a little bit to one of my book clubs also. It’s not much, and it can be gone by the end up the year very easily.
