I think I’ve found that indecision is also a factor of anxiety. If you feel uncertain and waver back and forth between positions, you will feel anxious. I’m trying to be more decisive in general, in big and little things and it seems to have cut out or cut down on another slice of my anxiety.

Love it. My mom has a gift for finding natural health supplements or remedies that really help. Recently, she was looking at something called inositol and choline. They help calm the nervous system. So I picked some up and it seems to be a very very helpful thing. I feel much more calm and a sense of well-being that has eluded me in recent years. I got some at a health store nearby and it wasn’t too costly either.
My latest strategy in learning how to worry less and enjoy life more is to pay attention to what I’m thinking about when I’m worrying. A lot of times, they are not true or accurate things that I’m thinking and I need to challenge them and replace them with true things. Either that or they are true and they bug me and the logical and smart thing to do is to take a proactive approach to taking care of them. It makes me feel so much better about life, like I don’t have to be dogged by worry but that I can do something about it. yay for that! =0)
You know how sometimes you can all of a sudden see clearly something that you’re doing and you hadn’t seen it like that before. Well, it’s been thrown in sharp relief for me that I spend a lot of my thoughts on dread and what I’m worried will happen and what I’m just not looking forward to. So the next step is to consciously think more on what I am looking forward to and what good might happen.
I’ve been working on thankfulness and looking for the good for quite some time now and I see a good effect in my life. The next step seems to be trust. I worry because I don’t trust others and God or myself often. I’ve found that deciding to trust is the answer to many of my worries. Not an easy thing but it is a choice and I’ve found that it brings peace.
I’m very deliberately working out of this right now. There’s always something to worry about and there’s always something to be thankful for. I’m switching my focus to the thankful because I feel like it will lead me into a happier mindset. And I’ve been doing well lately. It helps that I feel like God is working with me on this. It’s good.
