I have found great peace in this new place 2 years ago

Here, far in the north
Where sun and darkness are long
I live, simply, here

I think this last storm wiped out my apricots 3 years ago

apricots blossom
snow falls, bitter, cold, heavy
I will eat apples

winter exposition 3 years ago

white snow is falling
where is the sun, hidden now
I streak through the cold

Still cold and wet outside, but Spring comes soon 3 years ago

Sun still cloaked in grey
Cold winter’s grip strangles, yet…
Goldfinches appear

the sun is out, I will not make it home on skis 3 years ago

deep snow has fallen
conveyed me on this white path
the sun shines I walk

I need to go skiing soon 3 years ago

the mountain summits
white with freshly fallen snow
oh! my knees weaken

Overcoming depression 3 years ago

the darkness deepens
then, HA!, the sunrise follows.
gopher for breakfast

Fighting depression 3 years ago

bright blue sky, warm sun
darkness closes in, despair
I am far from here

my stomach is chewing on my back 3 years ago

no time no breakfast
the winter goes forever
leopard growls in me

no wait...there's more 3 years ago

The cadence here doesn’t seem quite right…but it’s a start. You have to put the accent on the end of “rosery” and “hosery” to make this work. This time I tried a limerick…I need improvement, but of, course, I’m not Irish, so this doesn’t come naturally.

O’Leary donned his wool kilt
Counted prayers on his new rosery
He then picked some fresh flowers
And daydreamed for hours
Now he wears hot pink hosery.
