be a better daughter

We made a little lunch at our home. Just me, my little brothers, my mother, my grandmother, my aunt, her husband and my little cousin. Generally, the family lunches are with more people. It was nice have just the closest (and my favorite) relatives and give more attention to them, as I haven’t had time to them in the last months and had a lot to talk.
My mother loved my gifts (and it’s so rare to happen), but the blouse was with a wrong size and she has to change. The food was delicious, the ice cream I bought too and I could show them the pictures of my trip to Rio last week.
My mother is always happy when we are together and I fell she was much more calm then the usually. It is a good sign…

We couldn’t celebrate her birthday as we’d like again. I had to work all day and had a class at night. I could didn’t go to the class, but she didn’t want to go out at night. I think she liked a lot my gits and will use them – and it is so rare to happen! I’m planning to spend a day on the beach house with her on a weekend and we are planning what we gonna do at my grandma’s house at Mother’s Day.

Yesterday I went with my father and my brothers to my aunt’s 60 birthday party. I had some problems with my father’s family, but the time passed, I forgot many of the bad moments and I had a such great moment. It’s wonderful to see again some people who were so important in my childhood, it’s funny to meet my roots, my ascendents. My aunts were funly drunk and dancing a lot, we made a lot of family pictures with all cousins, I introduced to my little brothers some cousins they don’t even know the existence. The barbecue was great and the candies still make me happy until now. I always percept how my father loves when we meet all these people and know more about our history and where we came from.

To make me more happy, I have to improve a little more my relationship with my mother. We are in a good way, but I have to learn to don’t repeat her mistakes to get better with this. I really don’t undertand how she makes so many plans with her college friends and my little brothers but never accept my invititations to lunch or to the movies or to the beach or anything else…

The first time I tried to get my driver’s license, I failed twice in the practical exam. My mother got me really upset with her words. I was hoping some support to still trying and not words against it.
Six years later, it was a little different. I told her I could lose my job if I didn’t get my license soon. She was always asking me about the process, how I was in the classes.
Now I got the license, I think she’s afraid to see me alone in a car. Ok, for a while, the car will be another reason to our discussions, as it is hers. But I’m trying to avoid it and conduct it in a better way to we both be happy…

In a hurry, my father and one of his brothers decided to made a Easter lunch to me and my brothers. It was a great time! My middle brother and I don’t go to my father’s apartment very often (he’s always spending some time with us here in my mother’s house or in our beach house) and I think he was very happy to see us there with the kids :)

My father, my two youngest brother and me spent this weekend in Aracaju, visiting my old brother who lives there with his family. His daughter had a 2-years-old party. The last time I went there, 3 years ago, my old brother was graduating and all times I tryed to be back something else happened and I couldn’t go. To tell the truth, I wasn’t exciting to this weekend, I have to many things to study and to resolve to the new job, but I have already promissed it to my father. I know he would be so happy to see almost all his children together (it was missing just the middle one – yeah, I have 4 brothers). It was a good trip, I got my goal (my father was really happy there) but sometimes I felt so dislocated in my brother’s house with so many people who travel too for the party.
I hope I have another opportunity to go there again in the next vacation with my young brothers and spend some more days, knowing some places in the city.

I percept that I kiss a lot my friends and my little brothers but I don’t do it frequently with my parents. Most of the time are in special ocasions as Christmas, birthdays and goodbye moments before a travel. I think our relationship were so confused when I was a teenager that we still keep some bad habits from those days.
I begin to think about it after last Saturday. As my credit card don’t have enough limit to buy my glasses, my father went there to buy in his card. When he was going back to his home, he shaked hands with my boyfriend. After, we didn’t know what to do between us. So we kissed each other, like we do with everybody else, but we aren’t used to do it between us.
I swear I’ll try do make this a habit with him and my mother, like it was when I was a child and so much closer them. Sure it’s difficult to end with all the discussions and fights, but I think it’ll be a great first step.
