find a job

I found a job with a temp service. Sure, it’s only temporary, but it is a job, and it pays very well for this area. I just hope that this company will hire me on permanently. I’d like to be able to eventually save enough to get my own place, as well as fix my car or buy a new one. We’ll see how it goes, I guess!

I lost the merchandising job. It was all about numbers and sales, and I’m just not a good salesman. I’ve gotten a couple of emails back for secretary jobs, but they’ve all wanted credit checks and my credit score is really bad because I haven’t been able to afford to pay my bills at all. I had an interview at a coffee shop the other day, but they haven’t called me back to say I’m hired. It’s getting really discouraging, but I know I have to keep trying. I just can’t give up. All my hopes and dreams are relying on this.

I am not entirely sure that I’m satisfied with it yet. It’s in merchandising, which normally wouldn’t be a problem but they’re working me more than full-time hours but on a salaried pay, so I’m getting less than minimum wage. Sure, I have the potential to make more if I set up more appointments, but most people aren’t interested in our services (home improvement in this economy?) so I don’t get to set up many at all.

There’s a job fair on Tuesday… I think I’ll go to that.

I’ve submitted a whole bunch of resumes and a ton of applications. Got a couple of interviews but no calls yet to say I’m hired. I must admit it’s discouraging… but I’ll do my best to keep it up. I really need a job.
