from a private instructor and also I might do a four-day immersion weekend course at Concordia Language Villages. Not sure of the cost of the first one and the second one is $345 for four days . . . but I am sure of the quality of the instruction at CLV so it would be worth it.

American Swedish Institute Swedish Language Classes
I got the class info, only now I need to think about if I will spend the money on a class at this time. It costs $110 for nine weeks plus an initial investment of $72 for a text (you use it through about four levels).
It’s so hard when goals contradict each other . . . for example, to take and spend $200 on a language class is not fulfilling my goal of working on my snowball with gazelle intensity. It’s this kind of constant reprioritizing that has up until now kept me from meeting my now #1 goal of “get out of debt.”
Luckily, I have a few weeks to mull it over. I can also keep my eyes open for a Community Education class. Unfortunately, classes at the U of M meet too often for my work life.
but Swedish is the language of my ancestors, and it’s called to me for a while now. A few weeks ago I had the chance to take a road trip with a woman who learned the language fluently as an adult and she knows all these things that I want to know, too! I know that this goal is definitely one I won’t work on until I’m done with grad school, but I think I should put it up. I have a shelf with a few Swedish books and can’t bring myself to get rid of them – so I’ll just have to do something about it!
