visit Tibet

I think I’m going to postpone this. There seems to be a lot going on in terms of pollution and also the bird flu threat. I’m disappointed and will keep it on my list for the future.

Should I be as worried about this as so many people are? I am hesitating to put down the deposit for my trip (summer 2006) because I don’t want to get into a quarantine situation.

I would be really disappointed if I went ahead with the trip and then had to cancel at the last minute.

I’ve found a great tour that goes through both China and Tibet, with several nights staying in monasteries! Very excited!

I’m conflicted about doing this while Tibet is under Chinese control. On the other hand, if Tibet is valued for its tourism, they are less likely to bulldoze it and replace it all with new buildings… they’ll have to let some of the culture remain so as to continue to attract tourists like me!
