going to try to improve the quality of the pushups and then work on the quantity. not that the quality is bad, im pretty i sure i go 90 degree angle but its not like im watching the angles. is that how far you are supposed to go? i want to try to get as low as i can to the floor on each but is that bad for your elbows? ...

this is odd cause rowing season ended from this summer till the fall and i havent been doing much at all for a couple weeks. i tried this randomly tonight and did 30 that were all pretty strong. i had decided to do 20 but felt good and went for 30. why is it that i can do this now but not before when i was training all the time?!

finally getting somewhere with this goal due to some great advice given to me on a post.
i was told to do smaller amounts in multiple sets and just shorten the rest time until i get 50.
so to start small i did 10 sets of 5 with 10 seconds in between which is thought would be easy but was harder than i thought (still did it tho! :]) i’ve been shortening the rest each day and once that gets easy i’ll do longer sets.
hopefully by the end of the summer i can check this one off as complete :]

wow, this is hard 2 years ago

this is really hard!
i try to do pushups like every night, but i feel like im not getting much further in my gaol.
im a rower so i also feel like there is not much more you can do after practice and that that should be a good enough workout already, but still i can only do about 15 pushups..
any advice..?

hard work but pays off 2 years ago

i really want to do this because i want to try to get in to west point for college and you have to be able to do at least 50 push ups. im a sophomore now so i still have time to go but im only at 20 with a lot of pain and i feel like i need to be over 50 cause its competitive.. im trying to do it every night but after rowing and homework i tend to slack off..
doing the kind of push up where you put your hands on your bed and then sit in the air in front of it (back facing bed) and push up and down with your arms helps as well because you can do more and feel more burn at one time (sorry i dont know what these are called)
