Talk to my sister at least twice a month

We spoke on the phone a couple months ago, when she was having some relationship issues and needed someone to talk to. I felt very complimented by that, but we didn’t get time to fully catch up on everything. We Facebook each other occasionally, but I tend to put off calling her because I don’t know what times are good to reach her. I also just get involved in other things, and forget. Tomorrow is a pretty full day for me, but I’ll call her on Wednesday. If she’s not able to talk when I call, she’s free to not answer! :)

Well, I’ve reached her through MySpace a couple of times, and learned that she and her girlfriend will be getting married in Iowa late this summer! I’m really hoping to make it to the ceremony…maybe even take C with me. :)

...when I was involved in that all-consuming relationship that ended last December. I’ve spoken to her a couple of times since then, but she’s hard to catch up with these days. I really miss her, and am going to make more of an effort, starting tomorrow.

I got to fly to Denver and spend time with my sister right after Thanksgiving, but I haven’t spoken to her since then! So it’s now almost a month. I will call her tonight.

...so I have a somewhat odd family. My mother was my father’s second wife. Since then he’s had several more. He had a daughter and a son with his third wife. The only time I ever saw them in person was when I was 17, and was just leaving my father’s house after having lived with him for a month or so. They were just arriving, and we got to talk briefly. My sister and I wrote letters to each other here and there, but never really got to know each other. A few years ago, I found out from my one full brother that she was gay, and felt compelled to email her and let her know that, unlike most of our religious family, I didn’t think there was anything wrong with it. Earlier this year, I realized that I too am more attracted to women, and so I emailed her…we’ve really gotten to know each other since then, and had quite a few long phone conversations, but sometimes life seems to have a way of interfering with our being able to talk regularly enough. Hence this goal.
