and a business plan with financials
and the prospect of organising a mardi gras next year and making floats and costumes with kids from 14 different schools.
but as yet no money. its a daunting task, but possible.

secured the premises for the centre for Jan 2010 and on the 14th april we’re running our first workshop – for teachers, focusing on art education in under resourced schools
now theres just the small matter of finding our funding…
and it has been a fairly painless process expanding and amending it for prospective funders.the dreaded beast almost conquered… in fact, it put up its paws and came quietly.
which is good because the pressure is on… we have to submit the expanded proposal on tuesday.
looks like theres some serious wall-eyed, middle o’ the night computer gazing coming up.
have got my head around it… found a really simple, concise buisness plan on the net that we’ll use as a template. and it no longer seems like an insurmountable task. hoping to report it finished imminently.
and went and drank hot chocolate together instead.
have 2 days set aside this week to work on the dreaded proposal, that me and my friend have been studiously avoiding. It’s the worst and most difficult part, especially since last year was largely spent trying to get the go ahead for a different project, an indigenous medicinal plant farming scheme which finally all fell apart…
this project really excites me though- an education project that focuses on the arts and the environment…. but not enough to make it possible to sail through the writing of a business plan, the financials…........
i think i need to give myself a pep talk… be a little more affirming… cos at the moment i just really dont want to do it.
