be happy on my own..not having to rely on someone else for happiness

I hate having to rely on someone. Even if i have to rely on my friends and family, I still hate it. I wanted to audition for acting and modeling but they called and said I have to bring a parent or guardian just because I am only 16 and under the age of 18 years old. I wish i can go by myself but I just gave up on the audition. I feel so trapped just wanting to do something I love and yet i have to give up on it so fast.
