Reading the Dhammapada, observing Upostatha days (so I meditate and read something at least once a week). However since this is something I’m planning on doing for the rest of my life I’m thinking that Moi Frey (below) has it right and this really isn’t a very useful goal to have on 43Things.

Hmmm, I’m updating all my goals. What to say for this one? Haven’t really been doing anything for it at all. Day to day life sort of took over and I haven’t been meditating or anything. Must try harder :o)
But Zencast each week keeps me from totally forgetting. I really need to set myself a time to meditate each day. Maybe after my daughter is settled in the morning and just before I start working? It would probably help me concentrate. Or last thing, to calm my mind and stop it racing so much that I can’t go to sleep? Hmm, yeah that sounds like the best bet for now.
I studied Buddhism in my 20s but didn’t really adopt it, just moved on and looked at other things although I stayed vegetarian. Some of it must have stuck, or maybe it’s part of my personality, but I find that to me many of the teachings just seem right and natural and almost obvious and it’s an outlook that has kept me level and sane under very trying circumstances. For now I will study and meditate as part of my day to day life, but I can see a day when my daughter is grown up when I could go a step further and become a nun. Who knows where my path will take me. Everything changes :o)
