remodel the kitchen

But I’m taking this off my list because it’s only little things and with a broken foot I’m not going to be doing any of them.

I should be all finished by the end of the month.

I’ve done the electrics, got the second work surface in, the floor tiled, almost all the wall tiles up. The dresser arrived. We’re now waiting for some additional wall units but it’s coming together nicely and should be finished by the end of the month.

Now I have to seal around the sink work surface and tile the window sill.

Sink and tap fitted

Wednesday painted the walls. Thursday put down more floor tiles. Today the movers came with my stuff so no work in the kitchen. Tomorrow and Sunday, new units, work surface, sink and tap ready for the plumber on Monday. Also hope to have time to tile the wall where the stove is going to go.

The plumber came Monday and disconnected the sink so yesterday I ripped out the sink and all the cabinets, stripped the walls and papered.

wall papered, 1st 17 floor tiles stuck down now waiting for them to dry before I can paint the wall. Opened all the kitchen boxes to make sure nothing was damaged (they give you 7 days to report anything missing or broken), all good. Hoping to get the plumber to make his first visit sooner rather than later so I can rip out the old sink.

Can’t find the float so we’re going to try to borrow one. Got a big tub of adhesive/grout for the floor tiles which I can start working on as soon as the plastering is finished (don’t want to drop plaster on the new tiles).

The new units, sink etc. are here and piled up ready for action. Two weeks until the plumber comes. I think I’d better figure out what has to be done each day to be ready.

Finished stripping that wall. Not sure if I should plaster tomorrow or give it a second day to dry. Also ordered the pine dresser which will stand along that wall. We already got paper for the walls since they’re very uneven, and the paint to go on top. The kitchen units arrive Monday. Busy busy!
