Motivated 2 years ago

I’ve been slacking off a bit this week. I’m not taking any antidepressants right now. I’m having a break so I can start on a new one next week and consequently I’ve been feeling a bit down.

Also, Frankie has the internet connected to his computer, not my laptop and we haven’t got around to getting wireless yet so I’ve been spending less time online so haven’t been checking my reminders and posting to the groups which has also weakened my motivation.

This morning I woke up quite early. Frankie was still asleep and he’d been out drinking the night before. I ended up doing my morning routine. It makes me feel good. I did some tidying up in the living room and bathroom and I did some more unpacking – almost finished now.

After Frankie woke up I put away some clean laundry. We haven’t got much dirty laundry now, just 1 load that can go in when this load has finished, because my Mam has insisted on doing some laundry for us to help us catch up. There’s still some clean laundry in bags that she’s done for us that I haven’t put away yet but I can get that done this afternoon. I also need to shine my sink the way flylady recommends in the beginning because I still haven’t done that since we moved in.

Tomorrow we’re having Kat, Dan and Nick around for Sunday dinner so I want to make the place look nice. Everyone was complimenting me on how lovely the flat look last Saturday night at my housewarming party. I was so proud!



Start as you mean to go on 2 years ago

Yesterday was the first morning I woke up in my new flat so I swished and swiped for the first time. I was gonna do it today but we overslept and woke up 2 1/2 hours before we had to give the keys for the old flat back and we still had loads to move!

My monthly project is gonna be unpacking everything properly and finding a place for everything.



Flylady Challenge 2 years ago

I’ve joined the July Flylday challnege thread over at www.scrapbook.com. We all get points for completing flylday tasks and also for the scrapbooking that we do.

I’ve not perfect by any means btu at least I’m progressing. I do the dishes everyday now, usually right away, because right away is the easy way. I’m focusing on luandry for the month of July. I want to wash and put away all the clothes that were heaped in the corner of the bedroom. it’s getting easier now I have 3 laundry hampers and a large wardrobe big enough for all our clothes.



Babysteps 4 and 5 2 years ago

I’d already stuck up the post-its like Flylady recomended yesterday. I want ed to move on to babystep 5 and write down what the negative voices inbside my head say and replace them with loving thoughts but I didn’t get round to it yesterday. The is a babystep that I’ve never done before. It sounds difficult and I always put it off but I’m really going to try today.

I didn’t do the dishes or shine my sink last night but I got dressed this morning and did all the dishes. I have the few from lunch to do now.

Plan for today:
- dishes
- 15 mins decluttering in living room
- 15 mins decluttering in bedroom
- make bed
- clean out fridge
- hoover

Also this week we are working on the kitchen so I’d like to empty each cupboard, one by one, clean it, and put everything back neatly. They could do with a clean and everything is maessy; it’s difficult to find anything and I’m sure the things at the back have been sitting there forever!



I got dressed, even though I didn't feel like it. 2 years ago

I feel a bit down this morning. I woke up and didn’t feel like getting dressed. I looked for my PJs or robe to put on to make breakfast (I sleep nude) but then I remembered FlyLady’s advice to get dressed every morning.

I picked some underwear off the clothes horse to put on then i noticed I’d put on my jeans too, without even thinking about it! I think if I start laying out my clothes every night before be I can just pick them up on autopilot and put them on.

I’ve done my face too. Just some tinted lip balm, a hint of eyeshadow and 1 coat of mascara. it always make me feel better. I’m wearing my contacts today. I couldn’t see my glasses anywhere this morning. I think they might have fallen down the back of the bedside table again. I feel so much better in my contacts.



Beginner baby step #2 2 years ago

This morning I got dressed down to my shoes! I’ve shined my sink even better than last night! I’ve also done 15 minutes loving movement today – walking. I’ve stuck up post-its, one above the kitchen sink that says “Shine your sink!” and one above the bathroom sink that says “Get dressed to your shoes!” I’ve never used post-its before, I just thought I would remember.

This time I’m comitting to myself to do the beginner babysteps as flylady reconmends, to the best of my ability. Progress, not perfection, but I should still try my best!



Beginner baby step #1 2 years ago

Tonight I’ve shined my sink! I’ve even taken the washing up bowl out of the sink. There’s no room to keep it under the sink like flylady reconmends so I’ve put it on the drainer.
