I’ve been doing really well with this. By eating healthier, my nails seem to be healthier and grow faster. When they’re long and healthy I keep them out of my mouth.
But when my cuticles get dry and cracked, I pick at them and bit them. I’m doing better, but haven’t completely quit yet.

If I have to file my nails down, I can officially say they’re long. I used Nutra Nail with green tea extract to get them to grow. And I’m filing them with a glass file that is supposed to seal the edges and keep moisture out, making them less susceptible to splitting and peeling. The thumbs are still dry and I have to work at not biting the skin, especially when I’m under stress. But this is a definite improvement.

I’ve stopped biting the nails and now have polish on them… a home job French manicure. Doesn’t look too bad. The cuticles aren’t so dry now that winter’s over. So for now, my nails look pretty good. But this is a lifelong habit I’m trying to break!
