Just now my dad came in and told me about this volunteering programme a freind of his can get me on. It’s in Ghana, it’s a month long and involves helping to develop a local village (digging a well etc). I’ve got enough in the bank to cover the costs so I won’t have to bother with fundraising etc and I’m really considering it. It could be the start of my travels around the world, which is something I’ve wanted to do for years (although I haven’t realised fully up until a few months ago). It also might be an oppurtunity for me to make new freinds (which I really need and it’ll be good practise for uni)so I think I’m going to go for it.

I’ve found this site quite useful as you can get advice, use the map on your profile to plan future trips or document previous ones as well as get reviews on places to stay etc.

So far I’ve been to southern Spain (+ Gibraltar), northern Spain, northern France, Belgium, Berlin, Chicago, eastern Canada and Tenerife.

I’ve gotten a bit bored of the UK so I might work abroad when I leave uni, but there are just so many places I want to go to it’ll be difficult to visit them all. My wishlist so far: US, Canada, India, Indonesia, Belize, Guyana, Peru, Australia, Cambodia, Nepal, South Africa, Egypt, Antartica and Svalbard.
