Learn to drive a stick shift

5 roundabouts yesterday, turned onto the main street on a friday morning, and a short spell on the highway! getting better, much better at driving!!!

guess who drove around the neighborhood today, taking my sister to her various errands? moi!

i started off a little shaky, but got so much more confident as we went along. i was on a major road…with traffic… and also had to stop, then nose out, and cross another road. didn’t stall!

well, i tried to go up the hill in 4th gear. let’s just say… not a great idea! i was actually trying to go from 3rd gear down to 2nd gear and i missed! i stalled… but started okay and zoom zoom off we went!

well… i stalled 7 times at the intersection, trying to turn left. and there was a car behind me. it was my worst nightmare. and you know what, it was okay… eventually! i mean, i didn’t freak out. i didn’t swear. i didn’t give up. and i didn’t cry. phew….

another driving lesson tomorrow. not making great progress, and scared to go out on a “real” road. but tomorrow we will drive along to the next village. wish me luck!
