think before i speak

I am going to mark this off as done…Ive grown a lot in this area in the last year to year and a half since I put this up, and while (I think) no one will ever perfect this area of their life.. God has changed me and with His help I will continue to keep growing..

We must watch out thoughts because they will become our words. We must watch our words because they will become our actions. We must watch our actions because they will mold our character.

I’ve had this book on my shelf for, I don’t know how long. I can’t even remember when I bought it, but I wouldn’t have been ready to read it at that time anyway, so maybe it’s a good thing it sat there for awhile. I just found it about a week ago, when I was packing things up to renovate our room.
I wasn’t sure where to put this entry, but decided to put it here because of the above quote
The book is about who we are before God… how God see us, and how we should see ourselves.
As she puts it…

The society has given us role models through fashion, sports, movie and TV stars … yet the world can’t even maintain its own standard of beauty. Woman spend millions of dollars on plastic surgery … and pictures of “beautiful models” are touched up by computers in order to create the image of the “perfect person”

I can just see how, in many areas of my life, especially my battle with anorexia, I see this whole process she is talking about… my words become my actions.

so all that is going to have to change

The tongue of the wise makes knowledge acceptable, But the mouth of fools spouts folly.

seeing consistent progress, but I think it’s too early to check this off as complete. I’m not sure yet what it will take for me to make this decision…..or how long.
it took a long time for me to get to this point, I may need to stay here for a while.

probably my worst vice … things come out of my mouth that never should.
this is going to stop... I just read how; when we give something to God, He will take our greatest weakness and turn it into a strength that can be used for Him… I’m not quite sure how He’s going to do that… I guess I don’t need to know how I just know He will ...so I’m going to give it to Him and do my part to change this.
