I absolutely love Detroit, and it’s story is SOOOOOO sad!!! My (extremely long term) goal is to help bring jobs and people back into the city (not just the suburbs). There are two parts to this goal: one is to help strengthen the automotive industry because right now a lot of plants are closing in Michigan and moving to other states. (I am hoping to do this by strenthening the communication and relationships between German & American companies, and also within different parts of the same company) Yeah I know it’s a totally out of reach goal, but I have it just the same, and also I don’t exactly have the greatest plan, but I’m whittling away at it slowly!!
The second part of the goal is more down-to-earth; I want to live in downtown Detroit when I return to the US becuase every single person who is paying thier taxes into the city of Detroit rather than a suburb is helping the economy and the school system. Also I want to help plant some parks or fix up houses or tutor at a school or somthing like that. But Yeah the time for all that is still several years in the future…
