Ok, i made it. I mailed the contract and in a few days i should be living on renewable energy (mostly water generated, ~90%).

Last year i used 1534kWh of electricity (two people living in a flat with around 70 square meters). Is this a lot? How much energy do you use?
Here in Germany energy companies are starting to promote power that was CO2 neutral generated (water energy, wind, solar). As a first step i will switch to such a provider. A quick calculation shows that i will pay around 10€ more per year but i guess that is OK.
There is some debate if this is really helpful and there are energy companies that try to jump the band wagon without really changing the way they are operating. I don’t have enough knowledge to really judge if a provider is playing fair or not therefor i decided to use a provider that has the www.ok-power.de certificate (amongst others they have the WWF on their board).
