Own a dog

So now my goal is to talk my fiance into adopting a doggie. He’s grown up with dogs his whole life, but is afraid that owning a dog will severely limit our ability to just take off and go away from the weekend. Really, how many times do we do that anyway! My argument is that the “grandparents” will be willing to dog sit! And its a good primer to having our own kids, which we are definitely not ready for…

I have been talking about adopting a dog for yearssss now! First I knew it wasn’t a good time because I was in college-broke, dorms-Need I say more. Then it was because I worked full time and lived in apartments that didn’t allow them. So now I have found that I am able to work part time and in two weeks will be moving to an apartment that allows dogs. I fought for that one! When my bf and I were looking for places, I kept holding out to find one that allowed dogs! So this goal will be reached before the end of this year!! Yeaaa!

I have wanted to adopt a dog for years now. I am just really scared of the responsibility and of feeling tied down (I realize that I listed having children as a goal too, and that this fear of responsibility is a problem!)Also I have always lived in apts and wonder if that is a good place to keep a dog (it would be a small one, but still unsure).
