It's been a while

...since I’ve taken ownership on my weight loss via this team. I hope all are faring well.

Since last July, I’ve lost 25 lbs. For optimal weight range, I’d like to lose 20 more yet argh….my discipline has dipped considerably.

And thus, I’m back with this motivational group.

My husband and I just watched this. I’m stunned and haven’t fully processed my reaction. All I know is I couldn’t complete my lunch after the viewing. The program observed the range of failure & progress of a man weighing over 1,000 pounds, plus the services of an obesity clinic in NY. Different theories - lack of dopamine released by the brain, lack of exercise, lack of discipline, a combination… - were cited as causes. My reaction involves nausea toward this gentlemen, with some empathy but mostly nausea. I’m concerned my reaction is more judgemental vs respectful. —still considering that point.

Feeling dull, old, and poofy

Wow, I’m going to win the title ‘Downer for Team 13’! Apologies for being self absorbed/negative. After a 2 hour power walk, I just feel huge-ish, with loving but always-eats-candy-bar spouse not into exercise. But I can’t blame his choices for my attitude or my ability to be healthy. Time to read the mindful, positive entries from Niel’s funeral gig…

Light rain with spouse & kitties napping the bastards!

My motivation is low but the sneakers are officially on the feet poised for calorie burns. —Out the door for a power walk!

Yikes! Starting at 174 lbs (5'3")

Late July, I visited the doctor for a general check-up. He said something like “For the love of God, lose the weight.”

So. Since then, the bod’s down to 164.0. I’m DElighted with the first amount of loss but the BMI still teaters at stage one of obesity. But moving onward, upward. September will bring healthy success…and eventually, say Spring ‘07, me in leather pants! I’m slowly but surely training for a marathon, having started preliminary power walk sprints thus far.
