I like a basic cup of coffee. Large and hot. Five to seventeen sugars -depending on time/mood. And a bunch of cream. It’s nothing special. Infact, most of the time I think the beverage itself is just a transport medium for sugar.
“Large dark. Room for cream” is my order. Simple and concise. I smile at the barista, hand over my $1.75, warm my hands on the cup, move to a comfy chair to stare into space for an hour or so.
Coffee shops have become a nice haven for me. During working hours, it’s a nice sneak-away spot to rant about “monkey trials” with my work buddy. After work…I read, people watch, or meet up with friends before outings. I like the laid-back style of coffeeshops moreso than the coffee itself.
In my opinion, the perfect coffeeshop is not unlike any in existance today. It’s cozy, laid-back, and communal. It’s what I imagine as a fufilling work environment.
