A trip to the West Coast is in order. I’m thinking I will fly in to Seattle or Portland. There’s a train that connects Seattle to Portland, and then trains in California. But my last stop will be to see my girl Anna in Idaho.

Can’t wait to get my backpack on and hit the road.

I am ready to move again.

But it’s only September. And my room still has empty spaces.

Trip to the beach 5 months ago

This past weekend Gaby and I went to Bethany Beach and Ocean City. We left Saturday around 5 pm and got in just as the sun was going down, but still light enough to play in the waves for a little bit. We walked on the boardwalk and then decided to call it a night. But we didn’t have a place to stay. So luckily I had my station wagon (okay, maybe I had kind of planned it) and we put the back seats down and slept in the car, in the darkest parking space we could find on the main road. The next morning Gaby woke me up around 6:30 because an old woman had taken down our license number so we moved the car to one of the lots near the beach and went for a morning dip. Then later in the day we hopped over to Ocean City and spent even more time at the beach.

A state of mind, not motion 6 months ago

I don’t need anyone but myself. And I don’t need anything but what will keep me surviving happily. I can make it on my own.

oh i wish 9 months ago

i used to imagine this so frequently and now corporate life has taken over my mind. it won’t last forever though. when i move into my apartment i will be downsizing and then every move after my life will fit into my car. it is a scary but alluring thought. what do i have now that i absolutely do not need? or maybe it is a question of packing my car just right :o)

one suitcase 11 months ago

That is all I want. One suitcase to fit everything I own and hold dear.

When there is too much stuff the most important things, which are usually small, get lost in the shuffle. My pictures of Deda and postcards from Anna’s trip to Copenhagen are missing and not seeing them everyday is making me very sad. I remember I tucked them together when I took them off my wall at school and put them in a “safe” place but where that place is I don’t remember! Tucked in a book but which one?!

I recently have had this strong urge to pack up a small suitcase and head out to Omaha, Nebraska. I have no idea what I’d find when I get there but it is very tempting…

What would I bring? My giant sweater, a couple pairs of jeans, my xc backpack. Probably I would take a few novels that I can’t part with.

It just feels like there is so much clutter here.
