Today I studied for a huge test in biological basis of behavior (which is a biopsychology class) with my friends Gaby and Jessica. We stayed on track virtually the entire six hours and worked through the three chapters methodically. So methodically that it felt like I had never studied a day in my life before today. I wasn’t just memorizing, I was trying to understand. I could almost feel my brain expanding as connections were becoming clear and meaning was synthesized and (hopefully!) stored well. My goodness it was incredible.

There was a period of time at St. Mary’s, I think once things had gone downhill a little, where my morning routine was a cup or two of tea and the BBC news.
I am going to revive this in the hopes that it will slowly push out some of my more self-centered routines, like checking my facebook and email repeatedly, and also increase my current-events knowledge.
Annotation isn’t the issue- it’s the critical thought that goes in to the annotation that I want to embrace.
I’m going through the Chicago Review. There isn’t much that I find interesting, which is disappointing. I found a poet named Feetham whose poem was fun to analyze in a multi-faceted way.
I am ready to have another poetry reading, consider this gathering material.
This book is making me nod my head in agreement every 2 or 3 pages. I should start taking notes in the margins… Everyone should read it!
And finding it easier to annotate than novels. Specifically, I am enjoying The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry. There is some good stuff in there. It introduced me to d.a. levy and I think his poetry is just fabulous (and his life so interesting, too!).
