Though it’s supposed to be 104 degrees today, now is the time to start thinking about knitting hats for winter. Because I’ll put it off for another several weeks, then pick it up but knitting basics will be a challenge and at some point those 2 little sticks will become downright frightening.
So, here’s my idea: every community has a group of seniors that gathers once a month to knit hats for premature babies. Here one gets to learn knitting basics with a simple hat pattern and do some charity work. The olds will be so happy to see a young person (anyone under 65) wanting to knit that there will plenty of help.
