1. Stop telling Eden she’s pretty/gorgeous/beautiful etc… instead praise her for her intelligence, efforts and attempts to be independent.
2. Stop using pink for everything… it gives a foundation for absolute gender roles… boys do this…girls do that… Let her be defined by her own interests.
3. Find books with strong female characters, buy toys traditionally associated with boys (play tools, action hero costumes, etc)
4. Ban Barbie and Disney they do nothing but perpetuate the idea of prince charming and flawed body image
5. Build my own self-esteem and watch what I say about myself and my body (watch it for now but move towards positive affirmations for myself)
