Just last week I started to remember things from my childhood and wrote them down in a Word document. When I was shutting my computer down that night it asked, “Do you want to save this document?” I couldn’t trash my childhood memories I supposed, so I quickly titled it ‘stuff i like.doc’. I added on to it a bit, and I’m up to 30 so far.
1. Sitting under the computer table kicking people’s feet while talking about how funny it would be to turn the outlet strip off so all the computers shut down.
2. Being late for academic wheel because you fell in a big pile of sawdust.
3. Doing 1/3 of your art project and getting a 98 on it because you baked your teacher fudge at the beginning of the year.
4. Trying to name your wolf on Monster Rancher “Tiger of the Wind” but having to settle for “Tiger of Wind” which sounds like broken English, and totally not as cool. But I guess back then it was… and if I had the choice today I’d probably still settle for it.
5. When people call the wrong number and get my cell phone and leave me voicemails about how I should attend their relative’s funeral.
6. When people call my cell phone in the midde of the school day and my Geto Boys ringtone goes off loudly, causing the entire class to laugh.
7. When I found your MySpace and we were finally reconnected.
8. Knowing that I can make friends wherever I go. Sometimes I have to muster up courage and make the first move, but everytime it’s worth it.
9. Your brother’s face when he saw the poster we made to help cheer him on at his band comp. which read “You ‘blow’!! (saxaphones).” :)
10. When you dropped your tray in the cafeteria yesterday and I threw fries at you as a “charitable donation.”
11. Walking alone in the hallway and hearing someone scream my name… just to say hey.
12. Forgetting to wash off the “I [heart] PAM Anderson’s boobs” that you wrote across my arm, and talking to my mom with my sleeves pushed up later that day.
13. Taking pictures of ourselves! Even if our hair looks like crap and we have no make-up on.
14. Thinking that in the episode “Coming Out Party” of the Brady Bunch, someone was going to admit to homosexuality and then realizing the only things coming out were Cindy’s tonsils.
15. I love it when I lose weight, not from actually doing something healthy, but by just hanging out with my friend!
16. When you made your MySpace unprivate so I could read about your life even though I only admire you from afar.
17. People who reply to yuor Myspace messages with more than one word!!! C’mon kids, try to keep the conversation going!
18. Boys who let me borrow their sweatshirt; even if I have no physical attraction or lust towards them. I still think it’s cool.
19. Writing a song about your obese teacher’s hypothetical trip to The Biggest Loser.
20. You thinking I don’t wear any make-up when actually I just do such a great job of applying it, yay!
21. Learning songs on guitar that require playing nothing but power chords. It’s impressive to play “Eruption,” but more fun where you play “Cute Without the E” and have people sing along.
22. When you invited me to your sweet 16, and me and my best friend showed up and found out the party had been cancelled, but you were nice enough to let us into your house so we could just chill for awhile.
23. Having a best friend who’s a boy that I can hug, smack, and be completely real with; and know we’re not going to ruin anything by dating.
24. Hearing you say, “bros before hoes”... and really meaning it. :)
25. I love how my photojournalism class genuinely likes my pictures when they’re displayed on the projector screen.
26. Hugs!
27. Having a friend who will drive 20 minutes across the river to see you.
28. When you caught me looking at you and I turned away quickly, and then looking over at you blushing, smiling, and looking at the ground. :)
29. The few times that I actually talk to you and don’t make a fool of myself!
30. Thinking of the perfect thing to say.
