Haven’t weighed in in a week or so, but last time the trend was still downwards. More people made comments last week insisting that I have lost weight.

But not according to my doctor. She also measured my height as one inch less than last year. Maybe it is. I got a lecture about exercising, but I am walking more than ever lately.



down 9 1/2

I’ve lost 9 1/2 since beginning. Some people who saw me for the first time this autumn commented that “there is a lot less of you” which I don’t perceive at all, but hey, I’ll take the complement.

I’m not really doing exercise walking, just plain walking but it seems to be doing the job. I still want to get the poles.



59 this year

Soon I will be 59 and I have decided I want to have a different body by next year when I turn 60. This means to lose some weight and to get stronger and more fit. I can’t become really fit, I know but i can be better. And I can’t lose all the weight I “should” but I can make progress. So I’m going public here. I’ve got a goal and want to be accountable for it.

See the diet entry about the basic eating plan. I’ve been thinking about exercise and keep coming back to walking as what I like to do do and walk I am most likely to stick too. But I need to ramp it up a bit so I have decided to get some of those Nordic walking poles. That will be my birthday gift to myself!
