decorate my house

well technically i’m in an apartment, and technically there are a few more things i’d like to do…like my sons room and some artwork for the living room…but for the most part…i have the things i really wanted, so i’m satisfied to mark this as done

my dividers came in…yayayaayayayay!!! only thing is, now i think i want a couple more pairs…but it’s a good start…wAHOO!!!

yayayayayayy!!!! i am FINALLY getting the dividers for my living room that i have wanted for a looonnnggg time. WAHOO!!!!!! They are shipping to my house. I hope it looks as good in my home as it did online, I can’t wait!

most people i told what i wanted for christmas and they followed through. Yay!!!! most of my bedroom is decorated now…the only thing i can think of left to do is MAYBE buy an area rug to cover up the carpet…ugg, it’s dirty from the high traffic area, but what else can i do in an apartment.

i’m asking for lots of “decorate my house” sorts of gifts. either monetary donations or the things themselves. I”m a little nervous about the asking for specific things, because I will be living with that thing all the time and I better love it or else it’s not worthy to be in my home. Since I’ve already asked for specific things I hope they don’t get offended if I don’t like it, I think I asked for specific things because I HATE SHOPPING…I wanted to avoid that…I guess I can’t have the best of both worlds

money,..that is. I talked with my husband the other day about some of my goals that are more expensive and said, couldn’t we redo our budget to account for some of these fun things…he said “sure!”
I’m still waiting to have that financial meeting with him, but that sure was a bright spot in my day…WOOHOO!

My main focus in our apartment right now is the living room and bedroom. The living room is also a computer/dining/eating area, so it’s been fun figuring out ways to divide the space. My hubby commented a few weeks ago, how he likes coming home because it’s so “homey”. What a compliment. I wouldn’t consider myself an interior designer, but I’m having fun making this temporary dwelling a place where we can be comfortable. I love it.

we went to target a week or so ago and bought an area rug to cover up the ugly carpet in our living room area. It is nice, and a great space divider, since our Living/office/kitchen area is all in the same area…next I’m looking at having my hubby make me some actual dividers to divide up the room. We went to Pier 1 and I also looked online for dividers..there is nothing cheaper than $100 and bigger than a 3 panel divider. In the real world, they are called “floor screens”...what a silly name! So it looks like that will be our next project, I’m excited

i like this goal, mainly because i’m so excited about it :-) Even though we are apartment dwellers right now, I’m happy to know we will be here for a few more years, so that I can actually make our apartment a home, where I can be comfortable. I never thought I would know what my style is, but I’m finding all these ideas coming to my mind and I’m excited to implement them…the only thing is money, I need some to make it all happen
