I am almost there, almost have it memorized. It is just a matter of practice, practice, practice. This is such a simple song, but its so fun! I may get a “harmonica” how to from Amazon.com if I really like it.
I’m learning using “tab” system which is basically memorization. I’m also learning to trust my “ear” as well.

I’m still working on this. Now I have my harmonica on my desk in my home office and am trying to do a few minutes a day. I am really looking forward to learning this song well on the harmonica and busting it out to celebrate friends and family.
I think I need to be more trusting of my “ear” to know which notes to play next and not be so focused on the index card and memorizing the “tabs”

Still working on it! lol. I just need to do this like I did with juggling, a few minutes most days until…wah-la!

I have been trying to sneak in a few minutes of practice when/where I can.
I have a housemate so it is tough to find a time when she’s not home so I can practice without potentially P*ssing someone off. lol.
I am going to use the same strategy that I used to learn to juggle.
1. Keep the harmonica in a visible place at all times so that I’m more likely to pick it up
2. Practice in short spurts rather than waiting for longer periods of availability, desire and convenience.

The basic parts of the harmonica are the comb, reed-plates and cover-plates.

I have enjoyed the times when I’ve had my harmonica at the ready for a happy birthday song. I admit I am a bit of a ham and enjoyed the somewhat stunned/admiring looks I’ve gotten for pulling out the harmonica and playing along with the singing crowd. I will have to practice this for several days in a row, much like I did with juggling, in order to get it down cold.
