ran outside for 45 mins or so. actually run/walk. it was hard but good. actually it wasn’t even hard. had alot of stuff to think about and work out. good tunes, beautiful weather (i was in NC for a funeral). I am going to run tonite.

okay, so i’m still not outside and still mostly walk/jogging. BUT I am making headway on the weight loss and as the pounds come off and I get stronger, my desire to run steadily increases. I’ve beend doing spin, karate and hitting the step mill and weights. The last two weeks I’ve been inconsistent to say the least, but I feel renewed after a great workout today.
I have mapped a 2 mile route from the house, but i’m a total wussie. it is damn cold here in New Hampshire so I may just have to stick w/ the treadmill and i’ve been thinking of trying the indoor track at the dartmouth gym. wish me luck!

Treadmill 3 miles, 60 minutes.
3-7% incline.
My goal is to work on treadmill at high incline all winter then transition to road/trail in the spring. I’m confident that I’ll know when I’m ready to get on the road.
well i fell off the wagon sort of. i was in the gym then fell off that wagon, but tonite i did 22 mins of walk/run. for some reason i just WANTED to run tonite. Haven’t felt like that in ages (years?) maybe i just know i want to be a runner and the only way to really do that is stop playing around and run. I left the house at almost 10pm, but i just had to do it. I almost did another loop around the block, but i’m going to pace myself. my knee feels funny, i took longer walk breaks than they suggest, but i did it. my feet feel fine.
one of the guys on the fitness blogs that i follow said his wife is asthmatic but went from 0 to 8-9 miles in about 9 months. I think I can handle that! :-)

been to the gym 4 out of the last 5 days. today did 30 min on the treadmill then walked 1.5 miles on the indoor track. i jogged for maybe 1 minute on the treadmill. gotta start somewhere!
went for a 1 hour walk this a.m. with the new ipod shuffle. i need to load some more music on this thing, but its perfect for exercising.
I haven’t eaten any meat today (it was hard to resist the bacon at breakfast, but then again not!)

i’ve gained almost all of the weight back. BUT I will not give up. I just downloaded the couch to 5k plan and am going to eye a 5k for May 26th (just after my return from Semester at Sea) and eye-ing the Virginia Beach Rock & Roll 1/2 marathon as well. I also started a running/training blog. now i need to put on my shoes and put down the cookies. The other thing is i’m contemplating going pescatarian again. but i lurve me some meat. but the fda approval of cloned meats is kinda skare-ay! wish me luck!

walked 4 miles this a.m. at the uva outdoor track. felt great to start the day this way. i wasn’t at all tempted to run. i am however really excited to get into the gym and lift tomorrow. i think i’ll do treadmill and lift tomorrow. today i was tuckered out and ate brekky and then passed out for a 2 hour nap! but i feel good. i even feel like my arms look slimmer (i’m sure i’m crazy).
32 min run/walk on treadmill. felt good, but i couldn’t settle in and focus and hit 45 minutes.
