Malinda Lo’s updated version of Cinderella. A darkly engaging re-imagining of such a classic fairytale with a cool twist. Catergorized as Young Adult fiction, I nevertheless enjoyed this telling.

Carol Anshaw’s funny take on family dysfunction, mother-daughter relationships and the many ways we betray each other and more often ourselves. Very good writing and interesting characters and story. I recommend it.

Lisa Kogan, of “O” magazine fame, unleashes her brand of self-deprecating and wry observational humor on a variety of topics. Definitely likely to be more interesting to women, but a funny and fast read for 30-somethings +.

Roda Jantzen’s hilarious memoir about how her oddball family, friends and mennonite heritage informed her growth during some of life’s biggest disappointments and trials.

This was a read for the LGBT reading group at the local bookstore. It was…uh…sad? Very well written, but very cool/distant and heavy…which since it is about the death of a teenager/brother/true story…makes sense but damn…I need a laugh now.

story about women pilots in WWII who flew not in combat but in supply missions and test pilots. cool.

More lgbt fiction/romance. cute but predictable story. liked that it addresses some autism issues.

I don’t even remember what this one was about. LOL.

In the Moon Island series. LGBT Romance. Good read, I may check out the rest of the series.

LGBT Fiction. Interesting read about college basketball star’s rising maturity on and off the court and how it impacts her romantic relationships as she falls in love for the first time, but has many different types of “love” in her circle of friends. Surprisingly good.
