Fun, fast and cute read. Not so much about the cooking, but the about the love (of self, life and others) that must go into the cooking. Short, fable-like tale of group of students at a local restaurant cooking school and the maestra/master chef.

A great rainy day or beach read, its fast.

#74: The Janson Directive by Robert Ludlum 2 months ago

fast paced action read recommended by a friend, same sort of tortured soul saves the world type deal as the bourne trilogy, etc. good cathartic entertainment, esp. for vacations!

#73: Middlesex by Jeffery Eugenides 3 months ago

Slooowwwww start, but I like the way the character literally comes into himself throughout the story and the glimpse of Greek culture was cool as I was headed to Greece when I read it. Would recommend.

#72: Zen & Art of Motorcycle Maintenance 3 months ago

I have wanted to want to read this for a long time. I thought my Semester at Sea II experience would be the perfect time. Unfortunately, I just didn’t really care that much for this one.

#71: The Elegance of the Hedgehog 3 months ago

AWESOME!! Probably the best book I read this summer. Mutli-generation drama with smart woman and girl at the center and the fallout from the death of a neighbor.

#70: Talk Talk 3 months ago

Better than expected romantic drama about deaf woman and her boyfriend’s quest to recover her stolen identity.

#69: Shop Girl by Steve Martin 3 months ago

Quick quirky read. I enjoyed it and will probably read more by Martin.

#68: The Tourists 3 months ago

I was really looking forward to this one. It wasn’t about travel AT ALL. Not sure I’d recommend it unless you’re into late 20’s life struggle stories of the haves in modern day NYC with sexuality fluid and ego even moreso.

#67: This Book Will Save Your Life by A.M. Holmes 3 months ago

Quirky and endearing like other Holmes works.

#66: The Host by Stephanie Meyer 3 months ago

Creepy, took me a while to get into it, but ultimately I really did enjoy it. By the author of the Twilight series.
