play more golf

After not playing for over a year. Dana and I played almost 18 holes a day, three days in a row up at Swannanoa in VA. I love that course and I played better than I’ve ever played. Still need lots of work on the short game. Unfortunately, its starting to turn towards fall here in New England so…time runneth out…

I’ve been playing more golf this summer than ever before. I’m still terrible, but i’m addicted to it and want to get better. It is also a critical piece of my cross-training, active lifestyle plan. I do wonder what I’ll do when winter sets in here in New England. We played the “free” practice holes today. It was nice to have no pressure of time/holes/players in the rear.

Hit Swannanoa with Dana again a couple weeks ago and played better, now I can feel that I’m getting hooked. 3 weeks in Cali for work/play and I seriously considered dragging the clubs but in the end left them behind. BUT, playing w/ Dana and the weather/course at Swannanoa are definitely on the schedule for the week of august 6-10 when I’ll have my nephew in daycamp in c’ville as long as her schedule is clear! I love golf more each summer!

I also played 18 holes w/ my friend Josh and his best friend Stewart. They are both 16 y/o so it was a hilarious afternoon of me trying to keep up with their teenage sense of humor. i enjoyed their company and the golf!

Need to work on putting, chipping and wedges. I suck!

since i’ve been back (may 21st), i’ve:
1. been to the driving range with my nephew once
2. walked the local 9 hole par 3 w/ my nephew and we played pretty well.
3. played 18 with Dana up at Swannanoa.

This is going on my priority list more for the fun and exercise.

my nephew and i hit wiffle golf balls this afternoon. Now that i’m back I want to try to hit the range at least once a week. Also Josh is coming back to c’ville and he’s always fun to go hit range balls with.

Went back to golf school at Ballantyne in July. I’m still terrible. Spent some time on the range in good company in the summer and fall.
