I did a little more on the tallbike this weekend. I welded the steer tubes on the two bikes together and welded the top grown-up bike to the bottom back kids’ bike. Now I need to fabricate some sort of eccentric bracket to adjust the height of the rearmost wheel. As it stands now, the center wheel is slightly lower than the front and back wheels. This means that I can either steer, or not steer depending on which way I throw my weight. It also means that my entire weight plus the weight of the top bike are either supported by the princess bike (yikes!) or the back wheel of the princess bike, a couple of booger welds, and the back wheel of the kids’ BMX bike.
Oh yeah… and since the hi-rise BMX bars that I was going to use are too small for the clamp on the stem that I’m using… BUM BARS FTW! (for now)
