Not my favourite country. I had some bad experience with life threatening and a lot of attempted scamming. But if you do hotels, tour packages and don’t do land border crossings, it’d be much more pleasant.
Definitely worth seeing the temples, although I don’t recommend more than 3 days… you kind of get immune to them after a while and it gets annoying. Food’s pretty good… try Amok, it was great. Road from the border into Siem Reap is a horrible experience that was memorable.

The friendliest country i’ve travelled to in SE Asia. The travel boom hasn’t quite hit the area so much, so the locals are still quite friendly and not so keen to rip you off. I only took the backpacker trail… Vientiane, Vang Vien and Luang Parabang… but i’d like to go back to go to Si Phan Don and explore around a little. Loved Vang Vien. Beer. Kayaking. Swimming. Tubing. Mountain Biking. Caves. Trekking. Hell yeah.

Who can complain about beer for less than $2. Coming from Hanoi airport into the city is a beautiful drive… green rice paddys and beautiful architecture. Crossing the street is a challenge for the first few times, hoping not to get hit by the mass of motorbikes and scooters. Pho is amazing, so are spring rolls. Markets are dirt cheap (as is everything else). Ho Chi Min is crazy busy, and the beeping never stops. Ha Long Bay is a little polluted but still beautiful and unique. Definitely worth a trip.

Went to Dubai for a couple of days over christmas and spent some time in Khor Fakkan with a friend. Did my first scuba dive, ate some awesome food and sat on a beach for a long time. Loved the shopping and all the ex-pats. Felt a little like Disneyland at times… everything’s so new. First trip to the middle east and it was pretty cool.
Not going to leave it for another year to travel again.

Sadly, it was raining the whole time… so I couldn’t get out of the city without really getting soaked. The city was interesting though. Loved Shilin Market, all the market food and the cheap, cheap clothes. I’d love to go back and buy more clothes, as well as see more of the countryside.

To put it lightly… I probably won’t go back. Not a massively interesting place… not so impressive. The food was ok, but there was waaaaaay too much kimchi. Some good idead… DVD Bang should be in every country, and the riot police were pretty cool. But overall, not a massively impressive city was Seoul. A little smelly too. But the palaces were interesting.

My most favourite country visited and one I will definately return to. The sex industry got on my nerves a little, and the people constantly trying to scam me, but the beaches were fantastic. Next trip i’m going to go to thew full moon party and check out some of the more remote places… adn get my scuba diving liscence.

My least favourite country visited so far. When I went it was rainy, overcast, everything was under construction and there were no people around. The casinos were somewhat interesting, but i’d never go back.

I loved Hong Kong… even though it was rainy and overcast the whole time I was there, it was still worth it. The pollution was intense, but it’s a great city, and there so many varied environments so close to each other… beach, upper-class city, Chinese slums, natural hiking areas etc. You can even take a day trip to another country and it’s easy as.

I’ve been in Japan for over a year now and I have travelled to Okinawa, Nagasaki, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Miyajima, Nagano, Nikko, Kamakura, Enoshima, Tochigi, Niigata and a LOT of Tokyo. I freakin’ LOVE real sushi. I think in order to really understand a country and its customs, you have to spend a while there seeing all the country has to offer.
