Well, I’m marking this one done. I’ve been attending gigs with a gypsy jazz band Parisian Swing for a few months now, and sight-reading new material from chord charts. And I’m launching a gypsy jazz band of my very own, Django’s Tiger. Very happy about this. A great deal of hard work under the bridge, but extremely rewarding, musically.

Well this has taken a big step forward. Having been taling lessons for a few months, I’ve recently made contact with a violinist who wants to play gypsy jazz. I have introduced her to my teacher, and to the guys I occasionally jam with. Both sessions went really well, and I may end up with bands in either direction. The first major positive step is that I, and the viloinist have been invited to play no-fee sets in a pub on an occasional basis starting 9 January 2011. Excellent news :)
