Update on Regular Exercise - 3x weekly 1 month ago

Since my last entry four months ago, I worked in a warehouse picking orders. I walked roughly seven miles nightly. My shift was 10 hours in duration and I worked four days a week. In addition to the walking (fast paced at that…. I had to pull 138 items per hour to make production) I lifted totes filled with items weighing anywhere from a pound to 20 pounds every 10-20 minutes as I filled two totes with orders and placed them on the conveyor.

During much of this time my dog was living with my cousin so I didn’t walk her. Now she is back living with me and we take two very brisk walks each day following roughly the same route (we change direction once in awhile!) making the round trip about a mile in length. We still have fun!

For me, this means that I have reached my objective.



Exercise Regularly (3x Weekly) 5 months ago

During the last two weeks I’ve gotten a workout! I’ve chopped weeds in a very, very weedy garden, used a push mower to mow a very, very large lawn and again to mow a large lawn. Between these three tasks, I logged 6 hours of vigorous exercise and reached the 3 times a week mark.

Been slaking on this this week…. not feeling good. Will get back in the swing of things next week! I promise! My walking partner is about to have pups. Hopefully it won’t keep her down long!

Exercise 3x A Week 9 months ago

Still walking and trotting with the dog! Actually, this is still a daily thing. We are up to three miles a day in two 1.5 mile walks. I am still logging my results on the WOMAN Challenge. The weather has been lovely for the most part and that really helps. We did walk in the rain one day but we managed to dodge the showers during most of the recent rainy days.

I’m still walking and running with Krissi, my dog. She’s a great motivator and she is full of energy! Krissi is a one year old Australian Shepherd mix and is a ton of fun! I’ve signed up for the WOMAN Challenge again this year, although it doesn’t officially start until May I am able to post and track my progress with my goals. I’ve been doing this. My goals include the aforementioned walks/runs with Kris as well as a strength building exercise to be done twice a week. I went beyond the goal of three times a week that I’ve stated here. Since Kris has to be walked daily, I made exercise a daily goal on the WOMAN Challenge.

For the last two weeks I have walked my dog daily. Sometimes we walk 2-3 times during the day; the week before last we were traveling and I walked her even more! Sometimes we sprint, sometimes we run hard; sometimes we walk briskly, and sometimes we stroll. But I am out and moving and that’s a plus! Thanks Krissi



Exercise 3x A Week 11 months ago

Due to the snow and ice I had to park my car on the road and walk back the lane to my house. Each trip in yielded another trip out the next day. So I walked the .2 mile to the house Sunday and out again on Monday. I did the same thing Monday night and Tuesday morning. Then I got stuck in the lane last night and had to walk out this morning so that’s at least three times this week! Leave it to mother nature to get me out and moving!!



A New Tactic 15 months ago

I’ve moved and the house is “off the road”. I walk out the lane to get my mail each day and sometimes I’ve even made the trip to put something in the box for the mailman to pick up which means I’ve made the trip more than once in a day. Round trip, it’s a little over 1/2 mile I’d guess. I need to track that just to be sure. Also I’m carry two 5 gallon buckets filled with water, every other day, to the pen where I keep my dogs. I have to carry them up a small incline. It’s not much but it is a start and that’s better than where I’ve been!



WOMAN Challenge Update 16 months ago

I didn’t finish it. A lot of things happened and I just let this go. Gotta get back to exercising though.
