My Mom and Dad split up before I was born – raised by Mom. I was always curious about him but it wasn’t until the last few years where i’ve given tracking him down any serious thought.
With the power of Goooogle, I found him. Doesn’t live all that far from me (about 20 miles). After months of dwelling on it and a little encouragement from my therapist, I wrote him a letter. It basically just said ‘suprise’, but in a few paragraphs. I left it open ended, said that I understood if he wanted to be left alone, blah, blah, blah.
I sent it certified mail so I know he recieved it. It’s been 3 months and haven’t heard back from him – for the first time, I feel a bit of anger towards him… i guess it’s the first time i’ve ever felt rejection in regards to him.
Oh, well… what else can you do? I am, however, considering sending him a postcard of the Earth as seen from space. On the back i’m going to write “Wish you were here.”
