learn to skateboard

I found a friend at work who is willing to teach me how to skateboard, though it’s not so much teaching as just being there. We’ve spent the past two nights skating around the parking lots at work after hours. He’s good at giving me pointers and it’s nice to be able to watch someone do what I’m trying to learn.
So far I can balance on the board, skate on flat surfaces, stop (which is really important) and do one “trick.” The “trick” is putting the board upside down over my toes and then jumping up so the board flips onto its wheels and then I land on top of it.
I’m having a blast with this!

I’ve finally gotten my hands on a skateboard. It belongs to my cousin, but I figure that since he left it in our grandma’s basement that he’s not going to use it any time soon. If he wants it back, he can have it. Now I just have to find someone to show me what to do. I’d love to be able to do this as it always looks so fun and exhilarating.
