I learned my lesson today…not gossiping as in spreading lies, but gossiping as in talking negatively about someone else when they’re not present. My brother fixed me good.

Big week ahead! 4 years ago

This week I pledge not to talk about anyone’s business with anyone else. I may have to stay off the phone altogether! Gossiping does bring friends closer in some ways. Cl is a great friend but also the biggest gossip. We’re always discussing other people’s problems, trying to make sense of things and agreeing on what we think it all means and what the person is doing wrong. I wonder if we do it because it makes us feel superior to others. We’re so judgemental that sometimes I feel guilty and sick from it. When I told her I wanted to stop she said everyone does it and we’re close friends so it doesn’t matter, but I have to wonder how much she tells others about my business.
