i just found out that my local track, which i always assumed was .25 miles long, is actually .3 miles long. which means the 7:45 i logged on thursday was for 1.2 miles = 1 mile in 6:27. i may be able to pull this off by fall’s end after all.

7:45 & 8:10 the past two weeks. not exactly encouraging. the first time i started too fast and petered out by the end, the other day i think i started too slow but it was also super windy. today was perfectly still and would have been a great day to try but it was endurance day. we’ll see how it goes this week :P
i started running almost three years ago. for a while i was only trying to build up my endurance but as a tennis player, it really slows me down. so now i’m concentrating on running faster one day a week. i went from 10 minutes to under 8 minutes over the past six weeks, it would be really great to get as close to or under 6 before it gets cold again. right now my running schedule is as follows:
sunday: endurance run – starting at 50% speed & upping 10% every 1/2 mile
tuesday: alternating sprints & jogging every 90s
thursday: run a mile as fast as i can
