improve my neighborhood

Ok, so my neighbor dumped more trash on the sidewalk next to my house. And I’m not talking about a couple of bags…it’s a couple of bags + 10 or so large tires + a broken wheel barrow + a small mattress + some type of furniture. It’s ridiculous. I’m pretty sure I know who it was b/c I was talking to him the day he said he was cleaning out his back yard, and that day the stuff appeared on the street. Soooo…I called the city again and no one has come out yet. Like last time, I’ll probably have to call multiple times. And I saw my neighbor the other night and asked him if he knew where the pile of stuff came from. He said he didn’t – and was obviously lying, and I told him I was going to keep an eye out. Hopefully our little talk will deter him from doing it again! I’m going to keep an eye out and next time, I’ll report him!!!

On the plus side, we are the only ones on our street to put up Christmas lights (and an inflatable snowman), but there are houses around ours that are decorated as well. It makes the neighborhood feel friendly and warm. Also, I was happy to meet the very nice couple who will be buying the house across the street from me. I think they have big plans for it, so the neighborhood will be coming up!

I’ve put some Halloween decorations up at my house. So far, I’m the only one on my street with anything festive, but maybe someone will see it and decide to decorate too.

On a positive note, the foreclosure across the street is now for sale, and I think someone might be moving into the house next to it.

So far, I’ve had the city come out and pick up the trash that was lining the street next to my house – I guess it was being used as an illegal dumping site by builders and such b/c there was all kinds of trash there! The street looks nicer, but it has a long way to go!
